Orthopedic Casting Tape

KangdaCast and KangdaCast Poly are for use in orthopedics.
KangdaCast consists of a knitted fiberglass fabric and KangdaCast Poly is composed of knitted polyester fabric.
Both of them are impregnated with water-activated polyurethane resin.
KangdaCast is harder and easier to be cut than KangdaCast Poly.
But KangdaCast Poly is lighter than KangdaCast and can be burnt thoroughly to be environment friendly.
KangdaCast Poly products have advantages in these characteristics: lightweight, high strength, radiolucence, and porosity comparing with traditional plaster cast.
Besides, the dust generated by removing the cast is lower in quantity and larger in particle size than the dust generated upon the removal of a plaster cast.
Exposure to moisture or water initiates a chemical reaction that causes the tape to harden.

Storage

◆ Be careful not to break the package.
◆ Store KANGDA Cast at room temperature.
◆ Damaged products by careless handing cannot be replaced. Please handle and store them carefully.
◆ The shelf life of KANGDA Cast is 2 years from the day of production.


Application Instructions


1 Put on the padded covering in the affected body part, and twine with the cotton paper.
2 Wear surgical gloves.
3 Before opening the package, choose the roll of proper size.
4 Immerse the roll in room temperature water for 2-3 seconds and squeeze it 2-3 times firm.
5 Wrap spirally, overlapping the previous layer by one-half or two-thirds the width of the roll. Just 3-4 layers provide a strong non-weight-bearing cast and 5-6 layers are typically adequate for weight-bearing cast.
6 KangdaCast is sufficiently cured to pervert further molding in 3-5 minutes after immersion in the water. Allow about 10 minutes for sufficient cure and let patients do not move during this time.
7 KangdaCast may be windowed, trimmed or removed with traditional cast saw equipment.

Precaution
◆ Please apply the surgical rubber gloves when you operate the product.
◆ When the resin is stuck to operator, please wipe it out with cotton swab with acetone.
