RTV-2 is a two-component Room-Temperature-Vulcanizing (RTV-2) silicone rubber. Depending on its curing mechanism, two types of RTV-2 are available: "condensation" cure type and "addition" cure type. As a kind of two-component material, MC RTV-2 silicone rubber for mold making is composed of Part A base silicone and Part B CA curing agent. Because a condensation reaction, the Part A base silicone and Part B CA curing agent can cure at room temperature, and become a cured silicone mold. Then the silicone mold can be poured the material below to duplication: plaster polyurethane, PU, GRC, cement, resin, polyester, wax etc...

Storage of RTV-2 Silicone Rubber for Mold Making

When the silicone rubber is stored at or below 30 ℃ (85 ℉) in the original unopened containers, RTV2 Silicone Base and CA30 Curing agent have a usable life of 12 months from the date of production. After 12 months, please use a stirring mill to stir the Part A silicone for some minutes, then the silicone can be use again, without any influence to the characteristics.
