Coir fiber is got from the outer layer which is in the form of thick coconut husk of the fruit of Coconut tree (Cocos Nucifera L). The coconut husk (exocarp) comprises of smoothen waterproof outer skin (epicarp) and fibrous zone (mesocarp). The mesocarp consist of strands of fibro vascular bundles of coir imbedded in a non fibrous paranchymatous “corky” connective tissue normally cited to as pith; which finally becomes coir dust.
